The problem with being a captain is that there are always ten other people on the field with ideas about the game, and twenty or so in the bar afterwards! Then I saw that  Crickinfo.com "The home of cricket on the internet" have a world cup fantasy cricket league, and I thought why doesn't woscc.org.uk, "The home of Westbury Cricket Club on the net" have something similar?  That way all of you aspiring captains, chairman of selectors, or avid Westbury supported can choose your "Fantasy XI" to represent you this season. Where else could you have a middle order of Edginton,  Martin and George?  Or a bowling attack of Thomas, Griffin and Jellyman?

The rules have been simplified this year.  Use the form below to choose eleven players to represent you this season and you have a total of £9,000,000 to spend.  To be honest, I don't think I am worth £820,000 on last years performances, but there we go, it is your money, spend it wisely!  Anyway, having submitted your team, proceed to the club shop and pay your £5 entry fee, or pay Pete Wyman next time you see him.  The closing date for entries is Monday the 18th of May.  Anyone who hasn't paid will be removed from the league, no exceptions.  The winner will receive a prize of £25, in the event of a tie the winner will be selected at random. All proceeds will go to club funds!

You will score 1 point for every game in which your player participates.  You will also score 2 points for every 15 runs scored, 1 wicket taken or catch.  Two bonus point will be given for 50s, 3 wicket hauls or 3 catches.  Three bonus points will be given for hundreds, 6 wicket hauls or 5 catches.  You can check back on the website for weekly updates on how your team is doing.  Good luck!
